Wearable Arts

Wearable arts is (as the name indicates) a wearable form of art. A small group of LIS students are currently combining their talents to undertake creating a few of these abstract clothing creations. The students are creating their costumes in anticipation of the upcoming art showcase, Artsplash, where their developing masterpieces will be presented to a multitude of different people.

At the beginning of the term each student was assigned a partner or group to collaborate with in order to create a costume of their own. The beginning was slow as students pondered the infinite list of themes and costumes they could assemble but the absence of work soon dissolved into a motivated flow of activity and progress.

The mountains of work on participants minds are disintegrating as they rapidly conquer their ‘to do’ lists. The multiple elements are being completed as the costumes now only require assembly, a few modifications and completions.
